TherapyGarden joins industry leaders in opposition of the current draft of the FDA Globalization Act of 2008

TherapyGarden joins Donna Maria of the Indie Beauty Network and other industry leaders in opposition of the current draft of the the Food and Drug Administration Globalization Act of 2008.

Many thanks to Donna Maria for the time, energy and expertise she's devoting to this issue.

Food and drug safety is critically important to all Americans, and a worthy pursuit for lawmakers.

However, we find the Food and Drug Administration Globalization Act of 2008 to be unacceptable in its present form. We ask that our legislators reconsider the devastating financial impact it would have on domestic small businesses in an already faltering grassroots economy.

With one broad stroke, portions of this proposed legislation (i.e., Title III Cosmetic Safety and Title IV Miscellaneous) promise to deliver a fatal blow to many, if not all of our industry’s small businesses, their customers, and the micro businesses they operate.

We respectfully request that these misguided components be reviewed and amended with an eye toward identifying where the real problems and their origins lie, and focus regulation where it will be most effective rather than placing an unfair burden on the US cottage industry.

Respectfully,
